What is MEU?
Model European Union is a simulation of the decision-making process in the EU! We simulate the ordinary legislative procedure and teach young people around the world about the EU!
You can become an MEP or a Minister for a few days and simulate a process of law-making working on two proposals!
Our main goals are to foster European identity and consciousness based on plurality, tolerance and cooperation between individuals, as well as strengthening European civil society by further developing democratic processes on both national and international level.
That is why our main project is “Model European Union Warsaw” (MEU Warsaw, MEUW). It is a simulation of European institutions, which brings together skilled and motivated young people and gives them the opportunity to experience first-hand the legislative procedures of the EU. Every year, we hold such a simulation in the capital of Poland.
MEUW was awarded the National Charlemagne Youth Prize in 2022!
The Charlemagne Youth Prize is the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, for youth-run projects which strengthen democracy and support active participation. BETA Poland’s projects were awarded the CYP three times: in 2016, 2021 and 2022!
